Bank Of New York Mellon (BK) was down 1.32% after it reported Q4 results that missed the Street view on EPS and total revenues. The bank reported Q4 adjusted EPS of $0.58, up from $0.54 in the same period a year ago but missing analyst estimates of $0.60. Results were adjusted for the previously disclosed benefit of a tax carryback claim. Total revenues of $3.66 billion were down from $3.76 billion in Q4 2013 and missed analyst projections of $3.80 billion. BK declared a quarterly common stock dividend of $0.17 per common share, consistent with the previous quarter's payout.

ETF Assets Continue Flowing to Charles Schwab - Yahoo Finance

Energy Dow Jones U.S. Energy Fund (IYE) was flat while Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) was up 0.85% in pre-market trading. Ivanhoe Energy (IVAN) was down 6.56% after the heavy oil producer said it is scaling back operations in Ecuador in response to lower oil prices and a delay in discussions with its partner on developing Ivanhoe's Block 20 heavy oil project. Located 125 miles southeast of Ecuador's capital Quito, Block 20 comprises an area of approximately 426 square miles and contains the Pungarayacu oil field. In March 2014, Ivanhoe and its partner, an undisclosed national oil company, submitted a joint proposal to Ecuador's government for plans to develop Block 20.

The Schwab U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF ( SCHZ ) , which charges just 0.06% per year, has $1.2 billion in assets under management.
